Living with Dignity Together

Dementia may change the journey,
but it does not change the soul.
MONTISSORI APPROACH
The Montessori approach focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and engagement through meaningful activities. Creating a supportive and structured environment, caregivers can encourage individuals to participate in tasks aligning with their interests and abilities. This person-centered method not only focuses on cognitive functioning but also fosters a sense of belonging and purpose, allowing seniors to thrive in daily lives. Embracing the Montessori philosophy can lead to more joyful and fulfilling experiences for both seniors and their caregivers.

Lakeside Memory Neighborhood is a nonprofit initiative led by healthcare professionals,
community leaders, and family advocates who have witnessed firsthand the challenges
of dementia care.

The need for high-quality dementia care in Lakeside is growing -- Families often face:
-
Limited care options
-
Institutional environments that feel impersonal
-
Few programs focused on dignity and quality of life

We believe people living with dementia deserve:
-
A real home
-
Meaningful daily life
-
Safety without loss of identity
-
Connection to community and family

Our model focuses on what people can do, not what they have lost.
